Pressurised basket
An espresso filter basket with a restrictor that builds pressure for you, making it forgiving of grind and technique.
A pressurised (dual-wall) basket has a small valve or second wall that creates back-pressure regardless of grind quality. This produces consistent crema even with pre-ground supermarket coffee.
The trade-off is less control: the basket masks grind problems but also caps how good the shot can get.
Why it matters for small spaces
Beginners without a grinder often get better early results from a pressurised basket, then switch to non-pressurised once they have a burr grinder.
